Entering the MTC
Kiera was made an ordained Sister by President Dan Frei on Tuesday May 16th 9:00pm in the Santa Clara Valley Chapel. It was a good spiritual evening with her family in attendance. (Greg, Makayla, Chase, Lexie, Lainee, Ferron, Peggy, Dennis & Maggie Anderson.) President Frei admonished Kiera to write down the blessings and promises that she could remember from her setting apart ordination so that she may reflect upon them in the future for guidance and comfort. Makayla was then told that she was told that she was Senior Companion with Sister Kiera Leavitt and Greg was told to keep us in line by acting as the Zone Leader!

What the Snow?!
The family left early Wednesday May 17th to take Sister Kiera Leavitt to the Provo MTC. It was a stormy day and as we traveled we encountered areas of rain and snow and cold winds. Amazing weather for the month of May!

We arrived in Provo safe and with plenty of time to go to the Olive Garden Restaurant for lunch. After finishing lunch we still had ample time to go to the Provo Temple and take pictures on the front lawn across the street from the MTC.

We all jumped out of the Expedition and took our little pictures then quickly got back into the vehicle as we were all quite cold!
We sat in the car and watched other families come up to the grassy spot and take their family photos. Some were happy and smiles with younger children running in circles around their group pictures.
Others seen were mothers embracing their daughters with tears knowing it would be another 18 months till they would give them another hug.
When it came time, we drove across the street and followed the directions to pull into place to get Sister Leavitt unloaded of her luggage.
As we stopped and started to unload the Expedition, Chase tilted his bike rack & bike that was attached to the hitch enough to open the back tailgate. Without remembering that items shift when in motion, we opened the tailgate and half of the families belongings spilled out onto the ground with some of Sister Leavitt's luggage. What a sight to see our family scramble to pull it all together and off the ground back into the vehicle.
The cute Sister Missionary assigned to help us held our phone for pictures and when we gathered together took a last family photo with our new Sister Leavitt.
Then she escorted her down the walkway to enter the MTC with one look back, a wave and a smile. Sister Leavitt is well on her way!
