Dear Family and Friends,    Things have been going pretty well here. We had exchanges with the sisters. Sister Chen and I were companions for the day and we spent the day doing service and on campus. Plus the AP's spend the day on campus as well so it was very fun! In 15 minutes Sister Chen and I found a new investigator and invited him to be baptized and he said Yes! Amazing!  Being on campus is so cool because school just started so there are so many new people to talk to!  Our Service we helped with was at a park setting up for their fall festival. There were a ton of booths to set up! So we helped the vendors. Sister Chen and I helped a lady who made her own baskets. It was so fun to help set the things up and it reminded me of swiss days.  Saturday was pretty fun as well! Brother Dorius fed Sister Shreve and I and also the 4th ward Elders! We all had such a fun time and he made so much food for us. Brother Dorius daughter Kylie and I ran cross ...

Zone conference! Sept 19, 2017

Dear Family and Friends!   This week was such a spiritually uplifting week. On Thursday we went to zone conference where Elder Scott D Whiting and Elder Adilson De Paula Parrella of the seventy came and spoke to us. They allowed us as missionaries ask what ever questions we might have.  Some things I really enjoyed from the talks was  "it's only after pondering that you receive revilation" we need to practice pondering so we allow the things we learn to sink in and allow revilation to come.  Have you ever been in a conversation where someone talks to you and asks you for advice or questions but they don't allow you time to answer or talk?  Are we allowing the time in our prayers for Heavenly Father to answer us or are we just asking and interrupting because we keep talking?  "make a focus on one thing. Making a focus on many this is not having a focus at all." This was one thing I really appreciated hearing because sometime I try and fo...

The power of one- September 11, 2017

Family and friends,  This week we found a new investigator Julia she speaks Spanish. English is her 2nd language but she speeks pretty well. When we talk about Christ she fully understands. She was in a accident about 9 years ago. She was crossing the street and a car hit her. She was rushed to the hospital and she is in a wheel chair today with her left side paralyzed. We have taught her the restoration but we are not sure how much she truly comprehends. So we hope that as we go back this next week we can help her recall what we taught. She shared her story of her accident and how she had so much anger towards the women who hit her and ran off. She was able to see that women again and all she could do was hug her and she expressed her feelings of the hatred being lifted off her shoulders and loving this women. What an inspiring story of forgiveness.  Ed came to church on Sunday and he showed up 30 minutes early as usual. But it was pretty neat because he was looking at ...

Mice and Snakes and Hippies, Oh My! September 4, 2017

Family and friends!  What a week! So last week was Transfers and I said goodbye to Sister Datwyler. I ended up staying in Eugene until Thursday with another sister that was training as well. (Sister pfau) it was so fun like a mini mission vacation. funny story that happened was we went to the park to talk to everyone there. We had a few good conversations and then stopped to see where we should go next when a group of Hippies waved us over. We went over there and they asked what we were doing. We told them that we like to share our message of Christ. Anyways it was so crazy as they were trying to talk to us, singing and playing their guitars and ukuleles and smoking all at the same time. As we finished talking to them and were walking away they started singing to us. It was quite an interesting experience.  While I was there in Eugene with Sister Pfauwe were also able to put one of her investigators on date so that was exciting to be a part of that. It's nice to see the...

Finished Training! August 28, 2017

Family and friends,  First of all I just want to give a shout out to the best brother in the whole world!!!  It's his Birthday on Saturday!  Something I love about my brother is how good of a listener he is. I use to spend hours in his room before bed and he would have to kick Me out because he would get tired. My Brother is the sweetest kindest guy you would ever meet. He is such a hard worker.  I hope you have an amazing Birthday! I love you Chase!  It has been another great week. Many things are changing. I finished my 12 weeks of training so that was exciting!  We got Transfer calls on Friday right before a lesson.  When you get calls on Friday you know someone is either going to be a sister training leader or training a new missionary.  I was so relieved when I heard Sister Datwyler would be a sister training leader and she is going to Klamath falls. But then President said and Sister Leavitt you will be staying in Corvallis a...
