Name tag pictures are the best! This week has been incredible. We had a few lessons and it has been very neat to see the Lord place things perfectly. This week we had a lesson with a former investigator named Paula. She is Native American and has alot of family that lives with her as well. She has been investigating the church for a little bit. When we went over to teach her we planned on teaching her about prophets. We asked where she was at in the Book of Mormon and she was in Mosiah 18! Power Scripture of Baptism!!! We threw out the plans and read the scriptures with her. Not a Coincidence that she was on that chapter. She wants to be baptized soon and I am super excited to be teaching her. So last week we met a 16 year old named Jaden who we had a great conversation with about the Book of Mormon. We stopped by to visit him and he wasn't home but we talked to his brother Johnathan who answered The door and we talked to him for a while. We found out he had to go ...

Beautiful things happening everyday- Oct 23, 2017

Dear friends and family! Things are going great in cottage. We have had so many good things happen. Destanie is fantastic! She came to church yesterday and is preparing to be baptized on the day of stake conference so we hope that there will be lots of support from the ward. Yesterday at church we had the primary program. Which is probably the best Sunday of the year. The kids were so cute and of course their is always that one child that makes everyone laugh. So a little girl every time she sang the chorus of Nephi courage she would jump and shout "I will GO!  I will Do! The things the Lord commands!" it was super cute. I love my companion Sister John we get along so well and help each other grow in our struggles. She helps me become a better teacher and I have been able to help her enjoy knocking on doors.  Things are going good and I  hope you are all having a fantastic day.  Love you all!  Love  Sister Leavitt  ...

Dear Family and friends! Portland Oregon Temple Cottage Grove is amazing and beautiful. I absolutely love it here. There is so much work to do and we never have a moment to waste. Amazing things are happening everyday. We have one sweet girl Destiny who is on date for baptism! The last night in Corvallis we had a testimony meeting as a zone and we got a text right after that the Cottage Grove Sisters had put Destiny on date! I remember the excitement of being able to be a part of this. We meet with Destiny 3 times a week and she came to Yw activity yesterday so that was super exciting! Also we taught the word of wisdom this week and she promised to give up her tea and everything to be baptized!  The first few days of the transfer we were in a trio with Sister Mcdonald with us. She is training a new missionary so we got to do all the fun things like take the new missionaries on campus in Eugene while the trainers were being trained. Sister John and I took our Site Joh...

Dear Family and friends,     This week has been a great one. We were able to have many conversations and as I've looked back from the time I've been in Corvallis I've seen the amazing miracles God has done here. Lewis's from Corvallis The Ertels with Sister Leavitt So we went and did Service on Tuesday at the giving garden and harvested tomatoes and cucumbers. Then we packaged it up and sent it to the store.  The book of Mormon class has been great as well! Ed still has been coming and Tia and Becky. It was such a spiritual evening. There is so much power in the Book of Mormon. I know it is true I know that it is the word of God.  On Wednesday we had the Waldport Sisters come and we took Sister Mann to meet President for the departing missionary temple trip. So we were in a trio for the day with Sister Dunas and it was so much fun! We knocked so many doors that day and had great conversations. It was fun to have that time togeth...

General Conference- October 2, 2017

Family and Friends,  Wasn't General Conference amazing! I definitely learned so much and it is very different watching as a missionary. When I was watching I thought about so many of the investigators we are teaching. Ed watched conference! Not sure what he thought quite yet but he was so excited to watch it. Tia also watched it from home which was exciting.  The Barlows who we live with were so kind and made us breakfast and we watched all together.  Some of my thoughts from conference  -God will use you to make others lives better if you are willing  -Following the savior will not take away hardships but will remove the barriers for his help  -unless we loose ourselves in the Service of others there is little purpose for our lives  -God has always used ordinary people to do extraordinary things  -its not where you serve but its how you serve  -there are no coincidences just Devine design  - The Book of Mormon is ...
