Coos Bay
This week has been a pretty fun and a busy one. We started off with exchanges with my girls! Sister Hoffman and I were together and Sister Howes and Davis were together. We went into the Coos Bay area and had a lesson with one of their recent converts Aubrie. She is 11 years old and is preparing to go into young women's. We read through part of the young women's personal progress. She is super excited to go into young women's!

Other amazing moment that happened this week was our lesson with Chris and Kayla. Chris was baptized a few months ago. All week we were trying to come up with fun ideas to make their lessons more enjoyable. After eating dinner we sat down in their living room. Sister Davis a little nervous and laughing pulls out a can of Chile representing Satan and the pressures we get hit by in the world. Then her finger reprenting us. She lays her finger firmly on the table in just the right way....and slams the can on her finger. Oh how I wish I caught this moment on camera. Kaylas jaw drops! Chris is so confused he's still trying to figure out where the can of Chile came from. Chris said he feels like his "lessons are starting into a new generation." They loved talking about the firm foundation that comes from the gospel in the home. We also talked about how Christ set up a firm foundation and how it has been restored upon the earth. 
Btw: no harm was done in the making of this lesson. 

This week we got a text from Natalie she just moved her but was baptized a few months ago as well. She asked us how we decided we wanted to go on a mission, so we set up a time to meet. She has been putting alot of thought into it and as we talked about missions bishop came around the corner. It was perfect as he was able to answer alot of her questions. She is setting up a time to meet with the bishop but she mostly nervous to talk to her parents about serving a mission as they were not excited about her being baptized. She is such an example to me and she has so much strength to do what is right. 

On Saturday it was the Stake make a difference day. We went to a park and cleaned it up. There were men cutting down trees, people moving the wood, kids painting the playground and tables. One of the guys that cleans up the park was incredibly greatful as we did the work of 3 years in one day. It was a blast as we celebrated with pork sandwiches after.

Makayla asked if Kiera was aware of the earthquake 80 miles into the ocean near Coos Bay; Yep I didn't feel it. And the missionaries in that area didn't either. Everyone is well and safe.

Sister Kiera Leavitt has always wanted to serve a mission! Kiera was blessed as an infant to serve a mission and her Patriarchal Blessing mentions several times about serving a mission.  When the age for girls was lowered, Kiera was ready to go even though she was still years away from age eligibility! She has planned and worked for it intently over the last 3 years.  She set a goal to finish Cosmetology school after graduation from Snow Canyon High School in May 2016.  She very seldom missed a day of school because she knew that she would have to make it up and that would extend her time further to be finished as well as possibly costing her more money if she happened to go over her time limit (in which she never even came close to! But she wasn't going to take any chances!) Kiera graduated from Hairitage Hair Academy in November 2016. Her plan was to work about 6 months so that she would have enough money to support her own mission.  So off to work at Fanta...

Blow The Door Off- March 15, 2018

Zone Temple Trip Family and Friends!  Lots to catch you up on. Hope I can remember everything I did. We have stayed super busy and we are not slowing down. This transfer is just flying by.  So on the 6th we had MLC. Which stands for Missionary Leadership Council. It was my first time going and it was so much fun!!! So many of my past companions were there, like Sister Allred and Sister John! We were able to council all togther of how to help the mission improve and what things we can do. What a huge blesisng it is to see that side of missionary work!  Sister Allred & Sister Leavitt One part I really loved about MLC was goal setting and planning. We talked about how we as missionariesare are really good at setting goals and making plans but we need to have a vision. Zone conference! Sept 19, 2017

Dear Family and Friends!   This week was such a spiritually uplifting week. On Thursday we went to zone conference where Elder Scott D Whiting and Elder Adilson De Paula Parrella of the seventy came and spoke to us. They allowed us as missionaries ask what ever questions we might have.  Some things I really enjoyed from the talks was  "it's only after pondering that you receive revilation" we need to practice pondering so we allow the things we learn to sink in and allow revilation to come.  Have you ever been in a conversation where someone talks to you and asks you for advice or questions but they don't allow you time to answer or talk?  Are we allowing the time in our prayers for Heavenly Father to answer us or are we just asking and interrupting because we keep talking?  "make a focus on one thing.
