The Work Is Urgent- November 12, 2018

Sister Kiera opens her ORANGE package! Orange you glad you served a mission?I love this gospel
I love being a missionary!  I love the blessings I have seen! I love more people more deeply more then I ever thought I would!

Family and Friends!
Now is the time of many changes is the church and for the Northwest region there have been some changes in the missionary work schedule. But before I get into that exciting news.....

On monday we headed down to Eugene as Sister Denison had a doctor's appointment. But that made for a great day for us. We went shopping and of course had to stop by our favorite place, Trader Joe's!! You know I had to get some of that cookie butter and pretzels! We also we able to get yumm bowls. I know many of you don't know what that is because it's totally a Eugene Oregon thing. But it's so good!  I'll try and bring there sauce home.
So the rest of our day we spent with the missionaries in the Eugene zone and I was able to see Sister Shreve who I trained and Sister Fiagle who goes home with me. It was a blast!
That evening I was able to spend with the Sisters serving on YSA campus it was so much fun and I also got to see Katie who I taught her and her mom in cottage grove and she is now going to the YSA ward. What a tender blessing! That night we had 6 sisters all staying in one apt, definitely a party. I serve with so many amazing sisters!

So Tuesday!  Let's talk about fishing! 🐡🐠🐟
If we think about fishing when is the best time to go? In the morning usually on a rainy day right?! If you could go fishing in Oregon would you just get up and go? Or would you plan out where the best place to go is? The best time? Yes, you would! So as Missionaries we are planning our fishing trip to make sure we can catch the fish!
In the hours from 5 to 7 when most people are home and with their families. It is the perfect time to go out and put our "lines in the water." We are fishers of men!
Missionaries will now be having dinners in their Apartments during the week at 4pm so we can be out knocking on doors from 5 to 7pm! Protecting prime finding time! Then during the 7pm to 8pm hour we will be going into non members, part members, less actives, and members homes teaching the lessons! I know this is truly inspired! The spirit confirmed these changes to me personally and I have already seen so many blessings!
This is another testimony to me that God is hastening his work and even us missionaries can play a bigger part of it! I'm so excited to see the blessings that come! I know that as we accept the Lord's will that blessings will come!
Missionary leadership council was really good and I enjoyed hearing the excitement missionaries have for the work. We also talked alot about the Light the World initiative this Christmas! So get ready because it will be coming up sooner then we think.

This week we also had exchanges with the Bandon Sisters and it was an exciting morning as our power went off. Lucky for us we had lanterns and flashlights. We had to take everything out of our fridge and take it to the Elders apt so it could stay cool. The power didn't come back on until the afternoon so we heard. But I had alot of fun spending time with Sister Dodds.

We had quite a few lessons this week but one of them was with a lady named Hailey. Hailey is super cute and has a 3 month year old baby. She loved going to church when she was little and was very involved although it has been about 5 years since she has gone. We taught Hailey about the restoration and she agreed alot with it as we talked about the apostasy and Joseph Smith praying. She loved all of it! At the end of the lesson we found out that her sister is actually a member from our church but that they don't talk much about religion together. Wow! Hailey is so amazing and I'm excited to be able to teach her more.

On our way back from Eugene I was able to get permission from President Orton to stop by and visit Destanie who was baptized when I was serving in Cottage Grove. She was super excited as I surprised her by showing up and knocking on her door.

A quote this week that I found was from Spencer w Kimball he said " we will move faster if we hurry less, we will make more real pregress if we focus on the fundamentals."
I loved that quote don't hurry yourself through life take the time to focus on the things that matter most in life then you will accomplish the things that need to get done.
I love you all so much and pray youre well and happy.
Love
Sister Leavitt
