THE BOOK IS ALWAYS BETTER!!! -January 22, 2018
Dear Family and Friends!
What a week I have had here. We have got mocked, made fun of, laughed at, doors slammed in our face and a lady yelling at us to get off her doorstep. And to top it off I have lost my voice but that doesn't stop me from proclaiming the message of the gospel! We have also seen so many miracles this week as well.
After starting our night off strong in cottage by being Bible bashed we headed to Eugene to hand out Books of Mormon at the Book of Mormon play. What a fun experience! We walked down the sidewalks passing out books as people laughed at us and as they quoted jokes from the play....haha not funny. Some of the people kept telling us to come out of charter. Anyways I have never been so outgoing in my life! We walked with people and smiling just being super excited and telling people the "Book is always Better!" Over the course of the days we handed out 3000 Book of Mormons! It was pretty neat to see the desire in peoples eyes of those who were sincerely searching for the truth.
As we had people slam doors in our face and a lady yell some very mean words for us to get off the porch we have seen miracles finding new people to teach.

| trying to figure out which way to go |
We met this man out working on his car and after talking to him for a few minutes he asked what we wanted. We told him we just wanted o get to know him and from that moment his wall fell. He started asking us about the Book of Mormon! He also shared a story with us that he had never told anyone. He once had a dream and Christ was there. He felt so much love and when he woke up he still felt it. The feeling eventually went away and he has been searching for it ever since!
We knocked into another man who left his child hood church because the pastor basically told him that he is not worth the time. We ended up having a super powerful conversation and he asked us about some of his concerns. We were able to share some of our experiences and boldly promise that if he would read the Book of Mormon he would find strength.
Paulas lesson was great this week we taught the gospel of Jesus Christ and Paula was able to see that she is so close to walking into the waters of baptism. She realizes she is on the edge and she wants to be baptized. She just wants to know more before she does it. She came to church again on Sunday and she was all prepared with her journal that the relief society gave her last week. She saw me taking notes in mine and asked what I write in it. I told her I wrote about the things that stand out to me or thoughts that come into my mind. She loved that and started taking notes the rest of church. When a lady asked Paula if she was visiting she turned to us not knowing what to say. Sister McArthur said "she will be a member." Paula turned to the lady and said "yeah I will be!" It was so cute!
It's crazy to think how many spiritual moments I have had on a person's doorstep or on the sidewalk. I am so greatful for this Oppertunity to be a full time missionary. I have been thinking alot about the calling and how powerful it truly is. Sometimes we forget as we go day by day. But it's the moments when people simply tell you that something is different when you walk into their home that reminds you just how great the gift of the spirit is!
